A magical place, between vineyards and the river, with a stunning view over the Douro.

Located amongst the organic vineyards planted by Quinta do Vallado in the Superior Douro, this is a secluded place of great beauty, where you can enjoy the silence and the force of nature in its raw state.

With only ten rooms, strategically located between the vineyards and the river, and with a spectacular view over the Douro.

Guests at Casa do Rio will have at their disposal meals, wine tasting and several activities, on land, and on the river, making for an unforgeable experience in the midst of nature.

Bar service, with a selection of light meals and wines, available from 12am to 7pm.

Casa do Rio has a small restaurant, only available to our guests and subject to booking.

In the kitchen meals are prepared with vegetables and fruit from our organic garden, as well as the best products found in the region.

Every day, at 5 pm, guests are invited to taste Quinta do Vallado’s wines.

SPA

Equipped with jacuzzi, Turkish bath and sauna. It has a relaxation area where you can have a tea and relax next to the orange grove – 1 hour free for our guests for bookings of 2 nights;
It also has at your disposal SPA treatments: Facial, relaxation massage with essential oils from Quinta do Vallado and Vinotherapy.

Canoes and Stand Up Paddle

For the more adventurous who want to explore the Douro River, Casa do Rio offers equippment and all the necessary safety equipment for: Canoes, Stand up paddle, windsurf and rowing boat. Take this opportunity to explore the river.

Bicycles

Cycling is a great way to explore the Douro´s tracks and paths. We offer E-Bikes,  MTB and Trekking bicycles and all the necessary safety equipment.

Walking trails

Take a closer look at places that only a few know and enjoy unique moments of direct contact with nature. Observe the diversity of fauna and flora and let yourself be carried away by the abundant wildlife around you. With due care, you might even have a swim in the river.
